Senior Full Stack Engineer - Java & React

About the role

Accso, a digital partner for sophisticated custom software solutions with an AI-native mindset, is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Cape Town. You will solve challenging software engineering problems across a wide variety of projects for large German and South African clients, building high-performing frontend and backend solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop frontend and backend solutions using primarily Java and React.
• Design, develop and implement robust software solutions using AI agent-based development methods and tools throughout the process.
• Write well-designed, testable, efficient and readable code that meets internal and customer standards, delivering thoroughly tested and debugged software.
• Contribute to code reviews, performance tuning and CI/CD practices, and help raise the team's engineering standards.
• Review and validate AI-generated code critically, understanding failure modes, common hallucinations and quality indicators.

Required profile

• University degree in computer science or a comparable discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including hands-on work with Java and React.
• Enjoyment of agile methods such as Scrum or Design Thinking.
• Proactive, pragmatic and team-oriented, with strong collaboration and communication skills and a drive for continual improvement.
