Senior Financial Analyst - Established Pharmaceuticals

About the role

Abbott's Established Pharmaceuticals Division (EPD) is looking for a highly analytical and commercially minded Senior Financial Analyst to join its team in Roodepoort, South Africa. The role plays a key part in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, business partnering and driving financial performance across the Africa Region, working closely with finance and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support budgeting, planning, forecasting and reporting across the Africa Region
• Coordinate LBE and annual planning, including data collection and system uploads
• Prepare monthly financial close reports and performance analyses
• Maintain P&L, exchange variance, expense planning and standard cost models
• Drive margin improvement initiatives and provide commercial analytics support
• Prepare and monitor capital expenditure budgets
• Manage expense tracking, accruals, provisions and cost centre reviews
• Analyse variances with business leaders and develop corrective action plans
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, reporting requirements and audit standards, and support internal and external audits
• Conduct balance sheet reviews and oversee P&L and balance sheet transactions
• Support strategic initiatives, distributor management and business growth projects, and deliver ad-hoc analyses

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree
• 5+ years of experience in a Senior Financial Analyst or similar finance role
• Completed CIMA or Registered CA(SA), or eligible to register as a CA(SA), is advantageous

The role involves travel of about 15% of the time and follows a standard work shift.
