Senior Field-Programmable Gate Arrays Designer

About the role

The Senior FPGA Designer will lead the development and testing of complex VHDL/Verilog projects for advanced RF and software‑defined radio solutions. You will work on hardware architecture, digital signal processing algorithms, and bring‑up of high‑performance FPGA and DSP platforms supporting wide‑band RF signal processing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and verify VHDL/Verilog designs for FPGAs, including timing and area optimisations.
• Participate in hardware architecture design and early trade‑off studies using evaluation boards.
• Design, simulate, code and verify SDR projects in FPGAs and DSPs for wide‑band RF processing (JESD204B/C, Ethernet 10G/100G, FFT, DDC/DUC, filtering, signal generators).
• Develop and test digital signal processing algorithms using Python or MATLAB.
• Perform hardware bring‑up, troubleshooting and use RF test equipment (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers).
• Create automated test suites for software‑defined radio devices.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or higher in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in FPGA/ASIC design and verification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (upper‑intermediate).
• Passion for electronics, ability to work independently and under pressure, and a collaborative team spirit.

Required skills

• VHDL and Verilog programming.
• Xilinx Vivado and Intel/Altera Quartus toolchains.
• ModelSim for simulation.
• Linux environment, Bash, TCL and Python scripting.
• MATLAB for algorithm development.
• Experience with FPGA and DSP design, JESD204B/C interfaces, high‑speed Ethernet, FFT, DDC/DUC, and RF test equipment.
