Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

Our client, an international engineering integration and manufacturing firm, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex electrical systems for mining, industrial and heavy‑engineering projects in Pretoria.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the electrical engineering department, ensuring compliance with quality, safety and company standards.
• Lead the full electrical design lifecycle from concept through detailed design, sign‑off and implementation.
• Oversee multidisciplinary projects, monitor deadlines, control costs and report risks.
• Mentor draftspeople and engineers, fostering technical growth and best‑practice adoption.
• Coordinate with other departments to schedule services and meet procurement requirements.

Required profile

• B.Eng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (NQF, Diploma, B.Tech/M.Tech, Pr. Eng/Tech).
• Minimum 10 years of operational and design experience, preferably in mining, industrial or heavy‑engineering environments.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of SANS and international electrical standards, MHSA and OHSA regulations.

• Electrical design software proficiency.
• PLC and SCADA system expertise.
• MCC design according to SANS standards.
• Industrial plant electrical infrastructure design.
• Technical product knowledge related to electrical systems.
