Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS) – Hybrid – Up to R1.3M/yr

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned DevOps Engineer with deep AWS expertise to join a forward‑thinking technology team in Johannesburg. The role is hybrid, offering a blend of on‑site collaboration and remote flexibility while working on high‑impact automation and CI/CD projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines across multiple functional areas.
• Implement infrastructure provisioning and software configuration automation in AWS environments.
• Apply observability practices to monitor hybrid and cloud‑based workloads.
• Collaborate with development and security teams to ensure PCI‑DSS compliance and adherence to the AWS Well‑Architected Framework.
• Provide Site Reliability Engineering support, including incident response and performance optimisation.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in DevOps or SRE roles, with a strong focus on automation and CI/CD.
• Proven experience working with AWS, preferably in financial services or similarly regulated sectors.
• Solid understanding of networking principles, protocols and cloud security standards.
• Ability to translate architectural best practices into practical, production‑ready solutions.
