Senior Consultant – Evidence Synthesis (Hybrid, Johannesburg)

About the role

IQVIA’s Evidence Synthesis practice is seeking a senior technical specialist to lead complex health‑economics projects. Based in the Johannesburg area, the role combines technical leadership, strategic problem‑solving, and mentorship of junior analysts in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day activities of multiple evidence synthesis projects, including feasibility assessments and development of statistical analysis protocols.
• Conduct meta‑analyses, indirect treatment comparisons, and network meta‑analyses using both frequentist and Bayesian approaches.
• Provide senior statistical guidance, quality control, and problem‑solving support across diverse client engagements.
• Develop, edit, and maintain analysis scripts tailored to specific research questions.
• Build and sustain effective client relationships, contributing to business development and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• In‑depth expertise in advanced evidence synthesis methods and a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical market.
• Experience delivering consulting engagements in health economics or related fields.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to lead integrated, multi‑geography teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in WinBUGS, OpenBUGS, JAGS, and R.
• Knowledge of Stan (desirable).
• Hands‑on experience with meta‑analysis, indirect treatment comparison, and network meta‑analysis techniques.
