Senior Business Analyst – Cape Town

About the role

The Senior Business Analyst joins the IT team in Cape Town, reporting to the Head of IT. You will analyse and redesign processes across all departments, translating the technology vision into practical, automated solutions that improve public transport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Document current (As‑Is) and future (To‑Be) business processes.
• Elicit, analyse, and validate clear, complete business requirements, rules and dependencies.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and produce functional specifications and User Stories.
• Create business requirements for new software or system redevelopments.
• Drive process improvement, optimisation and technology‑driven redesign.
• Support User Acceptance Testing to ensure successful project delivery.
• Interpret the IT vision and data strategy to identify business opportunities.
• Mentor junior analysts and collaborate with staff at all organisational levels.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of business analysis experience, preferably in a senior capacity.
• Strong knowledge of globally accepted BA techniques and methodologies.
• Proven ability to gather requirements, map processes and produce clear documentation.
• Experience working with stakeholders from operational staff to executives.
• Formal qualification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, IIBA, FTI) is a plus.
