Senior Associate Professional Architect

About the role

dhk Architects, one of the largest and leading design-led architectural studios in Africa, is looking for a Senior Associate Professional Architect in Johannesburg. The role leads and delivers projects across the built environment, overseeing design, coordination, documentation and construction supervision with multidisciplinary teams, and contributes to the management and strategic direction of the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver projects across the built environment, overseeing design, coordination, documentation and construction supervision.
• Ensure outcomes meet the client's vision, statutory requirements, the firm's design ethos, quality standards and financial objectives.
• Contribute to the management and strategic direction of the practice.

Required profile

• SACAP-registered Professional Architect.
• Minimum 15 years' post-qualification experience in architectural practice.
• Strong academic background with recognised architectural qualifications.
• Track record managing and delivering large, complex projects in mixed-use, commercial, residential, hospitality, civic and education sectors.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; willingness to travel based on project needs.

Required skills

• Expert proficiency in Revit and BIM Common Data Environment (CDE); Revit assessment required.
• In-depth knowledge of construction documentation and detailing.
• Understanding of collaboration and modelling techniques and Revit best practices.
• Working knowledge of Enscape, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and Microsoft Office tools.
• Understanding of building systems, regulations and construction methodologies.
• Advanced skills in interpreting technical and commercial project feasibility.
