Senior Active Directory Specialist

About the role

Disruptive IT is seeking two Senior Active Directory Engineers for a 12‑month contract to support a large enterprise environment in Cape Town. The role is ideal for seasoned professionals with deep AD engineering and operational experience who can maintain and enhance a complex Active Directory estate.

Key responsibilities

• Administration and support of Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS)
• Management of AD Sites and Services and monitoring of AD replication
• DNS and DHCP administration
• Group Policy creation, management and troubleshooting
• Support for Microsoft Azure, Entra ID and Azure AD Connect
• Virtual machine administration and deployment of domain controllers
• DFS and file server management, including backup and recovery
• Implementation of IT security controls and compliance measures
• Incident resolution, routine maintenance and delivery of projects

Required profile

• Extensive experience with enterprise‑scale Active Directory environments
• Proven expertise in AD replication, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Entra ID and virtualised infrastructure
• Understanding of DFS, file server management, backup strategies and security best practices
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities
• Clear criminal record, valid South African driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
• Willingness to work on‑site in Cape Town when required
