Senior Accountant – Logistics & Fuel Industry

About the role

A well‑established logistics company operating in Johannesburg South is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to strengthen its finance team. The role focuses on delivering accurate management accounts, budgeting, and statutory compliance within the logistics and fuel sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Ensure VAT, tax and other statutory compliance.
• Perform general‑ledger reconciliations and maintain financial controls.
• Coordinate audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant.
• Proven experience in logistics, transport, fleet, distribution or supply‑chain environments.
• Experience in the fuel, petroleum, oil & gas or energy sectors is an advantage.
• Professional qualifications such as SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA are desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/accounting systems.

What we offer

• Competitive salary package ranging from R30 000 to R40 000 per month, based on qualifications and experience.
