Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant with deep US GAAP and controllership experience to lead our accounting function during a period of rapid growth, an active audit, and a major software migration. The role focuses on technical accounting judgment, rigorous review, and establishing robust control structures rather than high‑volume transactional processing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead lease accounting under ASC 842, managing Right‑of‑Use assets and lease liabilities, and ensuring audit‑ready documentation.
• Oversee fixed‑asset accounting, capitalization policies, disposals, impairment assessments, and maintain the asset register.
• Provide a second line of defense by reviewing complex transactions, contracts, and financing arrangements for correct GAAP treatment.
• Partner with leadership on month‑end close, accrual methodology, cut‑off procedures, and reduction of manual adjustments.
• Establish elevated balance‑sheet reconciliation standards, design stronger review controls, and assign clear ownership.
• Prepare detailed audit schedules, reports, and technical documentation for internal and external auditors.
• Actively support the upcoming system migration, documenting processes, identifying control gaps, and mapping accounting requirements into the new platform.
• Continuously assess financial risk, investigate discrepancies, and implement fraud‑prevention controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with US GAAP, lease accounting (ASC 842), and controllership functions.
• Proven track record managing month‑end close, audits, and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Familiarity with NetSuite (preferred).
