Senior Accountant – Hospitality Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to support its fast‑growing portfolio of hospitality clients. You will own month‑end and year‑end closes, ensure US GAAP compliance, and deliver high‑quality financial reporting for multiple properties.

Key responsibilities

• Drive month‑end and year‑end close processes, preparing accurate P&L and Balance Sheet statements in strict compliance with US GAAP.
• Streamline balance‑sheet reconciliation and manage increasing volume as new clients and properties are onboarded.
• Handle journal entries, financial reporting, and account reconciliations across multiple properties or client accounts without sacrificing accuracy.
• Utilize hospitality and accounting platforms (e.g., Opera, Sertifi, Toast) to process daily financial data and optimize workflows.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows, strengthen internal controls, and enhance client service clarity.
• Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to provide reliable financial information and support decision‑making.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property accounting, or outsourced accounting services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, journal entries, and full‑cycle account reconciliations.
• Experience with hospitality‑specific systems such as Opera, Sertifi, or Toast is highly desired.
• Familiarity with Acumatica, Ottimate, and ProfitSword is a major plus.
• Self‑starter with high accountability, able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
