Senior Accountant / Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a well‑established industrial and manufacturing organisation with an international footprint, is looking for a hands‑on Senior Accountant / Financial Controller. The role supports the Finance and Administration Manager across the full finance function, balancing operational accounting, reporting, controls and financial administration in a structured corporate environment.

Key responsibilities

• Control and administration of the general ledger up to balance‑sheet level.
• Oversee accounts payable processes, supplier payments and reconciliations.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end reporting and closing procedures.
• Prepare journals, accruals, provisions and financial reconciliations.
• Process and monitor VAT, tax and statutory submissions.
• Prepare management reports, cash‑flow reports and audit schedules.
• Monitor fixed assets, depreciation and capital expenditure against budget.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Assist with international supplier account management and foreign invoice processing.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5–8 years of hands‑on accounting and finance experience, preferably in finance controlling or financial accounting.
• Strong general‑ledger, reconciliation and reporting expertise.
• Experience supervising or leading a small team is advantageous.

Required skills

• SAP (essential).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Exposure to Business Warehouse and Business Objects (advantageous).
