Security Officer - Secunda Branch

About the role

The Security Department of SA Metal is looking for Security Officers for its Secunda branch. The officer controls access to the property, searches people and goods leaving the premises, patrols the assigned areas and reports suspicious activity.

Key responsibilities

• Control access and egress at all SA Metal property by completing the required registers and operating the gates.
• Search pedestrians, vehicles and personal belongings of anyone leaving the premises.
• Make sure every customer and visitor is issued with PPE and that it is returned after their visit.
• Check that any item leaving the premises is accompanied by the relevant documentation.
• Verify that staff follow company procedures before being granted access, including breathalyzer tests that must be passed.
• Patrol the assigned areas at regular intervals.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.
• Observe and report suspicious activities.

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12.
• PSIRA registered with Grade C.
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to work extended hours.
