Security Engineer

About the role

SenseOn is seeking a Security Engineer to bridge security engineering, software development, and customer success. You will work directly with customers in South Africa to deploy, configure, and optimise the SenseOn platform, ensuring rapid and measurable security value.

Key responsibilities

• Embed with customers to deploy and configure the SenseOn platform and develop custom integrations.
• Own the full technical lifecycle from architecture review to production, ongoing integration development and platform health.
• Write and tune detection rules in SIEMs and debug customer environments.
• Build cloud integrations and support technical sales during new business and renewal engagements.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Customer Success, Sales Engineering and Product teams to prove and quantify value.

Required profile

• Strong AI fluency, using tools such as Claude, Cursor or similar as a force‑multiplier.
• Curiosity and ability to stand up labs, ingest logs and create detections quickly.
• Engineering judgement to assess code quality, including AI‑generated code, and handle edge cases.
• Willingness to work at a senior level regardless of years of experience.

Required skills

• Experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude, Cursor).
• Knowledge of SIEM platforms and detection rule development.
• Cloud integration development.
• Software debugging and production‑grade code review.
