Security Controller – On‑site Security & Loss Prevention

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies are seeking a Security Controller to supervise on‑site security operations, manage loss‑prevention processes and ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise on‑site security guards, allocate duties and ensure adherence to PSIRA regulations.
• Monitor and protect high‑risk stock, investigate shrinkage, and enforce loss‑prevention policies.
• Liaise with the off‑site CCTV monitoring centre, request footage, and verify incidents.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies and crisis situations, coordinating with SAPS and emergency teams.
• Conduct physical security audits, manage access control for warehouses and high‑value areas.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric with PSIRA Grade B registration.
• Minimum 2 years retail security experience in a shopping‑mall environment.
• Strong situational awareness, conflict‑de‑escalation and investigative skills.
• Ability to supervise, coach and lead security staff.

Required skills

• Operation of Hikvision security systems.
• CCTV monitoring and incident reporting systems.
• Access control and digital security system management.
• Knowledge of POPIA for handling CCTV footage and personal data.
