About the role

The Secretary for Teaching Development provides essential administrative support to the Director’s Office, acting as the first point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders and handling front‑office public relations for the unit.

Key responsibilities

  • Arrange and prepare documentation, letters, faxes, e‑mails, reports, agendas and minutes for the Director of Teaching Development.
  • Provide front‑office support, manage the office environment and respond to enquiries.
  • Maintain and organise the Director’s diary and schedule.
  • Deliver financial and administrative ITS support, completing online forms such as catering requests and job requisitions.
  • Prepare official Teaching Excellence Cluster meetings and book the M218 Teaching Excellence Seminar Room.
  • Administer all Teaching Development academic support programmes, including the Teaching Excellence Cluster.

Required profile

  • Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
  • 3–5 years of relevant administrative experience.
  • A qualification in secretarial studies, office management, public relations or communication is an advantage.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Accurate, methodical organisational abilities.

Required skills

  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Report writing and minute‑taking proficiency.
  • Working knowledge and experience of the ITS system.
