About the role
The successful candidate will join a team of hydrologists focused on flood frequency assessments for dam safety, working irregular hours. This position involves collecting and converting flood data, improving hydrological information, and supporting water resource studies.
Key responsibilities
- Assist colleagues with coordination of assigned work.
- Collect flood data during and after extreme events and convert it into hydrological information.
- Extend and improve rating curves and fill data gaps to enhance data quality.
- Acquire and verify data for deterministic, empirical, and statistical flood frequency analyses.
- Present assessment findings at evaluation meetings and prepare technical reports.
- Support water resource and yield studies and hydraulic assessments.
- Maintain and update hydrological databases and rating tables.
- Collaborate with external agencies during flood events.
