Sales Representative - Cranes and Hoists

About the role

Konecranes, a global leader in material handling solutions, is hiring a Sales Representative in Cape Town. The role promotes and sells the company's products and services to develop new business and acquire new customers, meeting assigned sales targets for repairs, retrofits, hoists and other light lifting equipment, spare parts, in-house repairs, general overhauls and consultation services.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and sell products through calls, visits and presentations within an assigned geographic area, product range or customer list to achieve sales targets.
• Use CRM systems efficiently and report regularly on leads and sales activities.
• Follow up leads, visit existing and new customers, assess their needs, suggest products and services, negotiate prices and delivery times and conclude sales orders.
• Identify and contact prospective customers and build relationships that generate repeat business.
• Take part in trade shows and conventions as required.
• Travel to sites to provide consultation, repair and retrofit services, offer service agreements, spare parts packages, solutions, retrofits and modernizations, assist with on-site design and project support, carry out safety and business reviews, handle customer complaints and cold call for new customers.

Required profile

• National Higher Diploma (NQF level 6).
• Valid driver's licence.
• 5+ years of work experience in a similar environment, with experience in service and/or industrial equipment.
• Able to work in confined spaces, on elevated areas and at heights, and to travel locally and outside South Africa for operational reasons.
• Behavioural competencies: ethical conduct, profit-and-loss awareness, customer focus, responsibility, good decision-making, constructive conflict management, two-way communication, teamwork and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using CRM systems in the sales process.
