Sales Executive – Merchant Acquisition

About the role

The ENTERTAINER is seeking a dynamic Sales Executive to expand and manage its network of merchant partners across South Africa. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships, and delivering mutually beneficial partnerships that enhance value for both merchants and users.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire new merchants and strengthen existing partnerships across categories such as dining, leisure, beauty, fitness, and entertainment.
• Proactively identify potential merchants through market visits, networking, and outreach activities.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and closure.
• Verify, collect, and process all required documentation related to merchant agreements and offers.
• Onboard and train merchants to ensure effective use of the platform.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (content, operations, marketing, finance) to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing merchant satisfaction.
• Monitor merchant performance, feedback, and redemptions to drive retention and engagement.
• Support merchants throughout the year with tactical campaigns and promotional initiatives.
• Track and report daily activities, progress against KPIs, and deal status updates.
• Conduct in‑trade compliance checks and stay updated on market trends and competitor activities.

• Persistent and able to overcome objections with professional negotiation.
• Customer‑focused, listening to client needs and delivering swift, quality results.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently without close supervision.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of prioritising in a fast‑paced environment.
