Sales Engineer

About the role

VirtuHire is seeking a proactive Sales Engineer to drive growth of its industrial product portfolio across South Africa and selected Sub‑Saharan markets. You will represent innovative compressed‑air, vacuum, power‑tool and assembly solutions, building long‑term customer success through quality, sustainability and collaborative partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed annual sales targets in South Africa and targeted Sub‑Saharan regions.
• Develop and execute market‑development initiatives to increase share and profitability across all sales channels.
• Identify, appoint, and coach distribution partners, ensuring strong market performance.
• Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification to proposal, negotiation and deal closure.
• Maintain accurate customer data, visit reports, quotations and sales activities in the CRM system.
• Represent the business at seminars, exhibitions and industry events.
• Ensure effective territory coverage and account management.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial or technical sales.
• Fluent English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organisational, planning and follow‑up abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Experience using CRM systems and sales‑tracking tools.
• Knowledge of assembly tools and fastening solutions (advantageous).
