About the role
Our client, a leading tax and accounting firm based in the Western Cape, is seeking a SAIPA‑registered accountant to work remotely. The role involves managing a diverse portfolio of client accounts across multiple industries, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and delivering high‑quality financial reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Process financial data for various company entities and prepare management accounts.
- Prepare, review and submit tax calculations, returns and related documentation.
- Communicate with clients on tax matters, deadlines and queries.
- Compile annual financial statements and supporting working papers.
- Liaise with SARS on queries or disputes and handle VAT, PAYE and payroll matters.
- Meet revenue targets by performing additional revenue‑generating duties.
Required profile
- Registered tax practitioner – SAIPA qualified.
- Minimum 6 years of tax and accounting experience in an accounting or audit firm.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (first language Afrikaans advantageous).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Target‑driven, reliable, independent self‑starter.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with accounting software.
- Solid knowledge of IAS, IFRS for SMEs, Companies Act.
- Understanding of VAT, PAYE and SARS processes.
