Retail Team Leader – Swellendam

About the role

An FMCG/Retail client is looking for a Retail Team Leader based in Swellendam, Cape Town. The Team Leader oversees the store as a whole and must live in the Swellendam area. The role manages a small team of 2 Sales Assistants and covers sales targets, stock control and staff leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve store sales and gross profit targets
• Manage visual merchandising and ensure the store is fully stocked with orders placed accordingly
• Control merchandise and stock, including shrinkage and stock loss
• Handle all administrative functions and manage all staff
• Lead by example, coach and motivate the team, and develop self and the team

Required profile

• High school (matric) qualification (required)
• 3 years of retail experience preferred; 1 year of management experience preferred
• Previous management experience desirable
• Must reside in the Swellendam area

• Knowledge of retail management best practice
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong IT and numerical skills
• Sound product knowledge
