Resident Head & Manager for Female Student Accommodation

About the role

Eikenhof Trust is seeking a dynamic Resident Head & Manager to lead two high‑quality female student accommodation facilities – Eikenhof Hostel and Eikenhof Manor – in Stellenbosch. The role is live‑in, full‑time and focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment that promotes the holistic development of 83 resident students.

Key responsibilities

• Foster a welcoming atmosphere, maintain student safety, and enforce residence rules.
• Provide emotional support, liaise with the Head Student and House Committee, and conduct regular leadership training sessions.
• Oversee the complete student intake process, including advertising, applications, selection, contracting, and room allocation.
• Manage invoicing, fee collection, petty‑cash handling, and monthly audits.
• Coordinate with parents, organise annual events, and maintain regular communication with the Trust’s Managing Trustee.
• Supervise domestic staff, oversee maintenance, repairs, gardening, security, and emergency systems.
• Procure consumable supplies and ensure the upkeep of buildings and grounds.

Required profile

• Relevant post‑school qualification and proven experience in residence, hospitality, education, or general management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, transparency and integrity.
• Strong administrative ability with solid computer and record‑keeping skills.
• Valid driver’s licence (vehicle provided) and willingness to reside on‑site year‑round.
• Fluent Afrikaans (spoken and written) is essential.
