Research Analyst – Rest of Africa (Listed Equities)

About the role

Join a leading institutional investment environment as a Research Analyst focused on listed equities across the Rest of Africa. You will conduct fundamental company and market research, develop investment theses, and provide well‑supported buy/sell recommendations that shape the investment house view.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fundamental research on African listed companies and market trends.
• Build, maintain and update financial and valuation models.
• Develop investment theses and formulate security recommendations.
• Contribute to the overall Rest of Africa investment house view.
• Travel across the region as required to meet companies and attend events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Science.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial markets, preferably equity research.
• Strong ability to analyse macro‑economic factors and their impact on sectors.
• Proven track record of producing investment theses and recommendations.
• Willingness to obtain FAIS RE5 certification within six months of appointment.
• Desirable: experience in investment management research, investment banking or private equity; postgraduate qualification; CFA or CA progress.
