Repairs Workshop Manager

About the role

The Repairs Workshop Manager oversees and manages the daily operations of a repairs workshop, ensuring efficient, safe and high-quality repair of electrical products and equipment. The role leads the workshop team, maintains service standards, optimizes turnaround times and supports the business objectives of the electrical wholesale operation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and supervise all workshop repair activities, including timely diagnosis, repair and testing of electrical equipment
• Monitor workflow to meet turnaround time targets and customer expectations, and implement and maintain standard operating procedures
• Manage, train and mentor technicians and support staff, allocate tasks, run performance reviews and promote accountability and continuous improvement
• Ensure repairs meet quality standards and manufacturer specifications, enforce health and safety regulations and conduct final inspections and approvals
• Liaise with sales teams and customers on repair status and technical queries, handle escalations, complaints and warranty claims, and provide technical advice
• Manage spare parts inventory, coordinate procurement of tools and consumables, and control workshop expenses and budgets
• Maintain repair records and service reports, prepare regular performance reports and use ERP or workshop management systems

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred)
• Trade test certificate (electrician or similar) is advantageous
• 5+ years' experience in electrical repairs or a technical workshop environment
• 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role
• Experience in an electrical wholesaler or similar industry is advantageous

• Proficiency in workshop systems and Microsoft Office
