Repair Shop Assistant

About the role

Halfway Geely Kokstad is looking for a reliable and hardworking Repair Shop Assistant to support the daily operations of its dealership workshop. The assistant helps technicians with general workshop duties, keeps the workplace clean and organised, and ensures tools, equipment and materials are handled correctly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist technicians with general workshop and repair duties.
• Prepare vehicles and work areas for repairs.
• Help move vehicles within the workshop when needed.
• Fetch and deliver parts, tools and equipment.
• Keep the workshop, tools and equipment clean and organised.
• Help load, unload and handle workshop materials.
• Follow workshop safety procedures and company policies.
• Report damaged tools, faulty equipment and safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Carry out other reasonable workshop duties as required.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Basic working knowledge of automotive parts and service, with at least 2-3 years' experience in a workshop.
• Some experience with vehicle diagnostics and problem solving.
• Able to work in a team and coordinate with other technicians.
• Excellent attention to detail.
