Remote Accountant – South Africa

About the role

We are a well‑established financial consultancy serving the legal sector and are looking for a remote Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will own the end‑to‑end accounting support function, from daily transaction processing to year‑end reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end working papers, process financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with VAT returns and company accounts for limited companies.
• Support business improvement initiatives by researching, reviewing and implementing internal controls and finance‑related projects.
• Provide day‑to‑day financial, administrative and operational support to the Managing Director.

Required profile

• Qualified or in‑progress SAIPA, SAICA, ACCA or CIMA candidate.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with UK accounting requirements or direct support to a Managing Director is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero.
• Proficiency with Dext.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
