Regulatory Audit Manager – Financial Services

About the role

The Regulatory Audit Manager will join EY’s Financial Services Risk Management team, advising banking and insurance clients on regulatory compliance and audit matters. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality advisory engagements, building client relationships and supporting junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with complex problem solving and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Lead and facilitate advisory workshops and client engagements.
• Manage financial aspects of projects, including staffing, fee tracking and issue escalation.
• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and preparing proposals.
• Build and maintain strong internal relationships across EY Advisory and Financial Services Africa.
• Coach, mentor and supervise junior team members to foster a learning culture.
• Ensure delivery of high‑quality work and proactively identify and mitigate risks.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in conduct‑related risk or compliance within financial services, either in‑house or consulting.
• At least 3 years experience in the banking or insurance sector.
• Honours or Master’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Treating Customers Fairly, FAIS Act, Consumer Protection Act and related regulations.
• Ability to understand and adapt to changing regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
