Regulatory Accountant – 12 month contract

About the role

We are seeking a numbers‑driven Regulatory Accountant to join the Corporate and Investment Banking finance team on a 12‑month contract. In this role you will translate complex financial data into compliant regulatory reports for the South African Reserve Bank Prudential Authority and provide insightful analysis to support business strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and reconcile balance‑sheet and income‑statement data to produce accurate BA returns for SARB‑PA.
• Identify financial anomalies, deliver deep‑dive explanations and recommend actions to senior stakeholders.
• Continuously evaluate and improve finance processes, systems, policies and procedures.
• Manage risks within finance and regulatory reporting, ensuring strict adherence to internal and external guidelines.
• Partner with business units to align financial solutions with the overall CIB strategy.
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes and share knowledge across the team.

Required profile

• Advanced Diploma or bachelor’s degree in commerce, financial management or related field (NQF Level 7+).
• 2–4 years of experience in banking or financial services, preferably within Corporate & Investment Banking.
• Familiarity with South African banking regulations, BA returns processing and risk‑management principles.
• Preferred: CA(SA) qualification or Financial Risk Management (FRM) designation.
