Registered Nurse – Trauma Qualified (RNSQ)

About the role

Being a Registered Nurse at Life Healthcare is more than a job; you will deliver evidence‑based nursing care in the Emergency Unit of Life Bedford Gardens Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager. The position focuses on trauma‑qualified nursing (RNSQ) to support high‑quality patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide market‑leading, evidence‑based holistic clinical care to emergency patients.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business growth.
• Manage resources efficiently, including pharmacy, clinical engineering, and stock, within agreed budgetary parameters.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, quality management systems, and safety standards.
• Contribute to achieving patient experience, clinical, and safety outcome targets.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
• At least one year of post‑qualification experience in an Emergency Unit.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) advantageous.
• Post‑graduate diploma or degree in Emergency Nursing (required for shift leaders).
• Knowledge of SANC Scope of Practice, relevant legislation, and ethical standards.
