Registered Nurse – Theatre (Hatfield, Pretoria)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our theatre team in Hatfield, Pretoria. The role involves delivering safe, evidence‑based nursing care to surgical patients and supporting the multi‑disciplinary team throughout procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide holistic patient care and develop appropriate nursing care plans.
• Maintain aseptic technique when handling packs and consumables.
• Control costs by using supplies and equipment safely and economically.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and the health‑care team.
• Ensure compliance with documentation policies and stock management.
• Uphold a safe working environment in line with occupational safety regulations.
• Participate in clinical governance and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification and an Enrolled Nurse qualification.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a registered nurse, including scrub, floor and anaesthetic nursing.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, patient safety and infection control.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the multidisciplinary team and exercise sound judgement.
• Resilience, excellent communication and flexibility to support daily business hours.
