Registered Nurse - Psychiatric Adult Unit

About the role

A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse in the Psychiatric Adult Unit at Life Nkanyisa, Baneng Care Centre, reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide and supervise nursing care in line with legislation and ethical codes governing nursing practice, and accept accountability for own professional actions
• Use the scientific process of nursing to initiate and manage comprehensive nursing care plans
• Coordinate and supervise nursing activities of team members who provide basic care
• Enhance patient satisfaction by using quality improvement tools such as CFS and Qe, and assist in managing patient complaints
• Build professional relationships with the multi-disciplinary team and cooperate in delivering nursing care
• Contribute to a safe environment by using tools such as SHEQ and infection control, and support business efficiency through cost-effective care and adherence to stock management, case management and billing requirements
• Coach and mentor staff, assist in performance management, and support staff development through on-the-job in-service education and staff recognition

Required profile

• General Nursing Degree or Diploma with Psychiatric qualifications
• Registration with SANC
• Grade 12 / Matric; a Diploma in a specialty is an advantage
• Relevant experience and technical skills to meet the critical outputs
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry is an advantage
• Willingness to work day and night shifts
