Registered Nurse / Clinical Technologist – Dialysis Practitioner

About the role

The Dialysis Practitioner will provide safe, evidence‑based dialysis care to patients with chronic kidney disease at our Alberton facility. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will place each patient’s goals and preferences at the centre of clinical decision‑making, supporting self‑management and improving outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver haemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis treatments in accordance with clinical protocols.
• Operate and maintain dialysis machines and water‑treatment systems.
• Monitor patient vital signs, laboratory results and respond to any adverse events.
• Educate patients and families on dialysis procedures, lifestyle adjustments and self‑care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied health professionals to coordinate care plans.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk‑management activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Nursing or BTech in Clinical Technology.
• Registered with SANC as a Nurse/Midwife or with HPCSA as a Clinical Technologist (independent practice).
• 1–2 years of experience in a haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis unit.
• Familiarity with South African healthcare legislation and professional standards.
