Radiology Nurse

About the role

Diagnostic Radiological Services Inc. is seeking a registered Radiology Nurse to join its fast‑paced, supportive team in Alberton. The role involves delivering compassionate patient care while supporting diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and the radiology team to provide accurate, timely diagnostic and interventional services.
• Obtain clinical history, screen patients, order and interpret relevant blood tests before procedures.
• Assist with interventional radiology procedures, including intravenous line insertion, medication/contrast injection, and catheterisation.
• Provide patient immobilisation, full spine immobilisation, and post‑procedure monitoring.
• Perform basic life support, CPR (including defibrillation), first aid, and manage airway support with bag‑mask ventilation.
• Control consumables, act as Health and Safety Representative for the branch, and attend H&S meetings.

Required profile

• Registered Nursing Diploma or Degree.
• Current South African Nursing Council (SANC) registration.
• Familiarity with scrubbing techniques for surgical/interventional radiology procedures.

Required skills

• Intravenous line insertion for infusion.
• Medication and contrast injection.
• Catheterisation and bag‑mask ventilation.
• Basic life support and CPR with defibrillation.
• First aid and oxygen administration.
• Patient and spine immobilisation techniques.
