Registered Nurse – Cancer Care & Community Health

About the role

CANSA is looking for experienced Registered Nurses to deliver compassionate clinical care and support across a range of cancer‑related programmes. You will work in community clinics, the CANSA office, mobile units and corporate wellness settings, helping to improve early detection and patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in community and mobile clinics, as well as corporate wellness programmes.
• Conduct health screenings, assessments and education to promote early cancer detection.
• Plan and facilitate health‑promotion and awareness campaigns in communities and workplaces.
• Support the Home‑Based Care Programme, ensuring continuity of care and follow‑up.
• Assist with the Stoma Support Clinic, offering guidance to patients and caregivers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, volunteers and healthcare providers.
• Contribute to marketing, outreach, reporting and service‑development initiatives.

Required profile

• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• 3–6 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in oncology, community health or primary care.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and reporting abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal English; Afrikaans or other local languages are a plus.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and non‑smoking status.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
