Regional People Partner – Trainee (HR)

About the role

The Regional People Partner (Trainee) will support Shoprite’s Gauteng West division by delivering day‑to‑day HR services. Working closely with the Divisional People Partner, the trainee will help align people initiatives with the business’s strategic and operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of functional HR operations and practice management for the assigned region.
• Provide support to business leaders, employees and other stakeholders on routine HR matters.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of People‑related processes and policies.
• Help monitor and report on HR performance metrics and productivity targets.
• Support the execution of the People agenda in line with regional business objectives.

Required profile

• Outgoing individual with a genuine passion for people and HR.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with business leaders and teams.
• Interest in developing a career in Human Resources within a retail environment.
