Regional Finance Controller: Sub-Saharan Africa

About the role

A leading multinational organisation is seeking an experienced Regional Finance Controller to lead financial control, governance and reporting across its Sub‑Saharan Africa operations. The role sits within the regional finance leadership team and requires a hands‑on professional who can balance executive interaction with detailed financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day financial control activities for multiple African legal entities.
• Ensure integrity of financial reporting, balance‑sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting.
• Drive financial governance, internal controls and compliance with group policies and statutory requirements.
• Prepare for internal and external audits and manage auditor relationships.
• Monitor foreign‑exchange exposures, regional financial risks and support month‑end, year‑end and regional reporting.
• Partner with finance teams across African countries to harmonise practices and identify process improvements.
• Support regional finance projects and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 10 years post‑qualification finance experience in a multinational environment.
• Proven experience as a Regional Finance Controller or senior finance manager overseeing multiple African jurisdictions.
• Demonstrated exposure to West African operations; Middle‑East experience is a plus.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and extensive audit management experience.
