Quality Officer – Electrical Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Officer to join a leading electrical engineering and construction firm in Cape Town. The role focuses on ensuring that overhead line, transmission line and sub‑station projects are delivered to the highest quality standards, with safety and compliance at the forefront.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quality inspections on electrical construction works, including overhead and transmission lines and substations.
• Verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, industry standards and safety requirements.
• Identify non‑conformances, issue corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain inspection reports, NCRs, quality records, checklists and project close‑out documentation.
• Support and uphold the Quality Management System (QMS) across project sites.
• Collaborate with project teams, site supervisors, contractors and clients to exceed quality expectations.
• Participate in audits, inspections and quality meetings.

Required profile

• Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Quality Management or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quality Officer or Quality Inspector in electrical engineering or construction.
• Hands‑on experience with overhead power line, transmission line and substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, inspections and project documentation.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and inspection test plans.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication and reporting skills.
