About the role
This internship offers hands‑on experience in the Milling Quality Control/Assurance (QC/QA) environment. You will work alongside the QC team to support food safety, laboratory testing and documentation processes while translating your biotechnology studies into practical skills.
Key responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing of raw materials, in‑process samples and finished products.
- Report QC/QA results and document food safety and quality deviations.
- Participate actively in INVOCOMS meetings and support the site food‑safety culture plan.
- Capture data in the LIMS and issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Maintain accurate logbooks to meet Seta and academic reporting requirements.
- Proactively report any institutional training or compliance needs.
Required profile
- Grade 12 and currently in the final year of a National Diploma in Biotechnology.
- Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Willingness to learn and apply theoretical knowledge in a manufacturing setting.
- Good analytical, numerical and teamwork abilities.
Required skills
- LIMS data entry and COA issuance.
- Laboratory testing techniques.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 (advantageous).
- Food safety and quality control procedures.
- Understanding of GLP and GMP standards.
