Quality Control Inspector – Trainee

About the role

RPO Recruitment is recruiting for a manufacturing company in Vereeniging, Gauteng. It is looking for a trainee Quality Control Inspector to check goods and products and support the company's quality management system. The position is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect incoming goods, production parts, sub-assemblies and finished products for quality.
• Take dimensional measurements with tools such as verniers, micrometres, height gauges and other gauges.
• Check repaired, serviced, calibrated and newly made equipment.
• Help put ISO 9001 and quality management procedures in place and keep them running.
• Write non-conformance, corrective and preventative action reports when needed.
• Keep quality records, calibration and conformance certificates and related paperwork in order.
• Handle SAP goods receipts, stock transfers and quarantined or failed items.
• Help with stock takes, dangerous goods packing, pre-packing and quarantine management.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (matric).
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar quality control environment.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and compliance.
• Quality control, internal auditing or a relevant certification (advantageous).
• TQMS Diploma (advantageous).

Required skills

• Hands-on experience using inspection, measuring and testing equipment (essential).
• Knowledge of, or experience with, ISO 9001 implementation, awareness or auditing.
• SAP experience (advantageous).
