Automotive Technician - Vereeniging

About the role

A well-known automotive dealer in Vereeniging is looking to employ qualified technicians to repair and service motor vehicles according to manufacturers' standards and specifications. The position is advertised by Bonafide Human Capital.

Key responsibilities

• Establish the parts needed for service or repairs and make sure the correct parts are ordered.
• Report to the foreman promptly on additional work required and obtain authorisation before doing extra work or fitting parts costing more than about R250.
• Get technical information from the foreman on problem jobs and follow manufacturer technical specifications and workshop policies.
• Record all work done, including cause and correction, on the back of the job card, and book all oils and consumables used.
• Keep the vehicle clean, use seat and fender covers, and keep the work area safe, clean and tidy.
• Record time on the timesheet correctly and as soon as possible after work is finished.
• Report faulty or broken equipment, use special tools carefully, and keep your own hand tools in good working order.
• Repair vehicles to specification within the flat-rate time and accept responsibility for apprentices and learners, monitoring their work and fixing problems.
• Treat customer vehicles with care: do not sit in them, do not tamper with accessories, do not remove personal property, and keep removed parts together, safe and recorded.

Required profile

• Red Seal trade certificate.
• Valid South African driver's licence.
• Computer literate.
