Quality Assurance – Quality Controller

About the role

Coca‑Cola Beverages South Africa is looking for a Quality Assurance – Quality Controller to join its Quality team. The role focuses on product sampling, laboratory testing and in‑line inspection to ensure that all beverages meet the company’s strict food‑safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical, chemical and microbiological tests on raw materials, packaging and finished goods according to scheduled plans.
• Carry out in‑line quality checks on production lines (CO₂, Brix, fill height, torque, crown/crimp integrity, etc.) and document any non‑conformances.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as pH meters, refractometers, incubators and analytical balances.
• Report calibration deviations, instrument malfunctions and ensure equipment cleanliness.
• Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and assist with internal and external audits.
• Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and follow SOPs, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 and KORE quality systems.
• Maintain accurate quality control records and provide samples/evidence for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Experience conducting laboratory tests in a food‑beverage environment.
• Familiarity with GMP, GLP and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to identify, document and communicate non‑conforming results.
• Attention to detail and strong record‑keeping skills.

Required skills

• Operation of pH meters, refractometers, incubators and analytical balances.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 and KORE quality standards.
• Conducting physical, chemical and microbiological analyses.
• Calibration and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
