Maintenance Controller

About the role

The Maintenance Controller will join the Maintenance team at Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, reporting to the Unit Manager. The role is responsible for supervising preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance, ensuring plant reliability and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and monitor daily maintenance tasks, job cards and technician deployment.
• Lead a team of Maintenance Technicians, providing coaching, performance management and skills development.
• Execute and oversee preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance, ensuring rapid resolution and root‑cause identification.
• Collaborate with Reliability and Plant Engineers on MTTR/MTBF tracking, reliability‑centered maintenance and asset care plans.
• Maintain accurate SAP PM data, close job cards, log faults and analyse equipment failure trends.
• Support shutdowns, overhauls and projects by coordinating resources, spares and tools.
• Enforce SHEQ, GMP and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, and participate in audits.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and manage a maintenance team in an industrial environment.
• Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) or similar CMMS.
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and reliability improvement.
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and GMP standards.
