Promotions Assistant

About the role

Takealot.com, South Africa’s leading online retailer, is seeking a Promotions Assistant to support its fast‑growing e‑commerce business in Cape Town. You will work closely with promotional buyers to drive successful campaigns and help improve sales performance.

Key responsibilities

• Support Marketplace and Retail Promotional Buyers in procuring and briefing deals for promotional campaigns.
• Manage the product briefing process with both retail and marketplace sellers.
• Review performance of promotional activities and recommend improvements to drive sales.
• Perform administrative tasks for daily flash sales and promotions, including recording exceptions, checking pricing and availability, and reporting required marketing material.
• Ensure promotional KPIs such as new buyer acquisition, GMV growth, profitability, sell‑through and marketplace participation are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Retail, Commerce or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in retail promotions or commerce.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Organised, solutions‑oriented and self‑motivated.
• Comfortable learning and adapting to new systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
