Project Officer – Just Transition Finance Mechanism

About the role

The Project Officer will support the Just Transition Finance Mechanism (JTFM), a partnership between the Development Bank of Southern Africa and the Presidential Climate Commission. The role focuses on coordinating programme activities, tracking milestones, and ensuring timely delivery of outputs that advance South Africa's low‑carbon transition.

Key responsibilities

• Provide cross‑cutting coordination for the JTFM team across DBSA, PCC, service providers and stakeholders.
• Monitor project timelines, deliverables and alignment with programme objectives.
• Facilitate communication and reporting between partners to ensure transparency and effective collaboration.
• Support the development of a pipeline of investable projects and the mobilisation of transition finance.
• Assist in organising stakeholder participation events and documentation of planning outcomes.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in project coordination or programme management, preferably in finance, climate or development sectors.
• Strong organisational and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple partners and adapt to evolving priorities.
