Project Manager – Research Projects (Fixed-term)

About the role
The Desmond Tutu TB Centre (DTTC) at Stellenbosch University seeks an experienced Project Manager to support a portfolio of cutting‑edge child and adolescent tuberculosis research studies. This two‑year fixed‑term position will be based at the Tygerberg Campus with a hybrid work arrangement, reporting directly to Professor James Seddon.
Key responsibilities
- Manage regulatory submissions, approvals and compliance for multiple research studies.
- Coordinate communication and engagement with study partners, funders, regulatory bodies and community stakeholders.
- Oversee study timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting and data management in line with university and sponsor requirements.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration across clinical, epidemiological, microbiological, immunological and modelling teams.
Required profile
- Proven experience in managing research projects, preferably in health or biomedical fields.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and ethical requirements for clinical research.
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
