Professional Nurse (General Nursing)

About the role

The Mpumalanga Department of Social Development is recruiting a Professional Nurse (PN-A2, general nursing) for the Nkangala Treatment Centre. The nurse provides nursing care to patients and supervises junior staff, acting as shift leader where necessary.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direction and supervision for junior personnel and implement the nursing plan (clinical practice and quality care).
• Implement standards, practices, criteria and indications for quality nursing.
• Practice nursing and health care in line with the laws and regulations relevant to nursing and health care.
• Maintain constructive working relationships with nursing colleagues and other stakeholders.
• Use human and physical resources efficiently and effectively.
• Provide comprehensive nursing treatment and care to patients in a cost-effective, efficient and equitable way.
• Act as shift leader in the unit where necessary.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in nursing (basic R425 qualification) or equivalent, allowing registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• Experience is taken into account for a higher salary notch.

What we offer

• Annual salary of R337,359, plus service benefits and a uniform allowance.
