Production Manager

About the role

Orbia Advance Corporation is looking for a Production Manager based in Kraaifontein, Cape Town. The role leads the Production department, manages production lines and teams, and drives performance through KPIs, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all functions and day-to-day activities of the Production department.
• Manage daily production line balancing and optimisation with the Planner.
• Drive key production KPIs such as OEE, scrap, performance, availability and productivity.
• Manage inventory and stock levels effectively.
• Monitor and analyse production indicators using SAP, Power BI and MES, interpret trends and act on them.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with the Maintenance department to reduce downtime.
• Work with the Quality department to resolve production-related quality issues.
• Promote a safe working environment with the HSE Manager.
• Lead Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and productivity initiatives.
• Lead and manage Production and Assembly teams, including scheduling, timekeeping, training, performance management and discipline.

Required profile

• BEng (Industrial or Mechanical) or equivalent, or BCom Operations & Supply Chain or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans (written and verbal).
• Valid driver's licence.

• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Permanent employment, subject to a three-month probation period.
• Working hours Monday to Thursday 08h00-17h00 and Friday 08h00-16h00.
