Production Manager

About the role

PepsiCo is seeking a Production Manager to lead one of its manufacturing units in Port Elizabeth. The role oversees daily production activities, ensuring targets are met while optimizing resources and maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct production supervisors and process controllers to achieve planned output.
• Control product quality assurance and manage raw material, packaging, and consumable inventories.
• Optimize plant equipment including Process Feeding, Binders, Fawema, Italpac, FFS, palletizing lines, robots and pallet wrappers.
• Ensure safety, health and hygiene compliance across the facility.
• Approve and manage capital projects and coordinate maintenance schedules with the Maintenance department.
• Provide regular status reports to the Unit Manager.
• Supervise, motivate and develop production staff.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in extrusion processes.
• Degree or diploma in Production Management or a related field.
• Proven ability to manage production teams and coordinate cross‑functional projects.

Required skills

• Extrusion process knowledge.
• Technical operation of Binder, Fawema, Italpac/Itelpack, FFS equipment.
• Palletizing systems, including robot‑assisted pallet wrappers.
